We create the relationship between city and park with various measures: the location of the 8 point houses maximizes connections, path systems clearly show the connection and open and public spaces between the point houses invite everyone “inside”. With different plantings in the courtyard of the urban space, the park’s flora is also drawn into the new district. We have therefore focused on nature being part of residential areas and part of the sustainable cities of the future.
In the project, we have recycled bricks from the town's old public school "Vestre Skole".
The point houses are designed compactly - this means that surfaces are reduced to minimize heat loss and energy requirements. The heat loss is also reduced, as the homes are primarily oriented to the south, just as the location is also carefully balanced to minimal shadowing.
AN INDEPENDENT DISTRICT
Byen i Parken contains 8 residential blocks of 4–6 storeys, housing 137 homes of varying size and type. The focus has been on creating a neighborhood with an independent identity in comparison to other areas in Hjørring.
At BJERG, we have an office on one of the ground floors where we every day can enjoy the beautiful surroundings from large windows.
